European Mortgage Federation

Established in 1967, the European Mortgage Federation (EMF), which represents over 75% of the EU mortgage industry, is
THE voice of the mortgage industry in the EU on both the
retail and the funding sides of the business.
The overarching aim of the EMF is to ensure a
sustainable housing environment for EU citizens.
To this end, the Federation is the
key talking partner of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the 3rd pillar committees, and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision on all industry related matters.
In pursuing its aim, the Federation:
- encourages the exchange of information and best practice;
- provides up-to-date specialist insight into legal, economic, funding and market-related developments;
- responds to the EU institutions’ consultations via specialised position papers; and
- collates and publishes in-depth studies and comprehensive EU-wide statistics on European mortgage markets.
