The International Union for Housing Finance has members in 42 different countries worldwide. One of the Union’s aims is to be a primary source of information for trends and innovations in housing finance and the series of Union Fact Sheets and member country reports below aims to help meet that objective.
Each IUHF Fact Sheet focuses on a different housing finance market around the globe. The Fact Sheets cover the main issues relevant to housing and housing finance markets, including their macroeconomic background, their demographics, housing demand and supply, housing finance and government policy, and regulation.
The IUHF Fact Sheets are deliberately concise and, therefore, limited in their scope. Some relevant and more in-depth information on international housing finance markets can be found in various reports and articles available on this website as well as in the International Union Housing Finance Sourcebook (2000). In addition, each Fact Sheet provides references to the sources of data and information as hyperlinks in order to allow users to gather additional supporting information should they wish.
Unfortunately, Fact Sheets are not available for all markets represented by current members of the Union and are therefore complemented by member country reports. New and updated Fact Sheets will be added to this series as they are published.
