Training - Fannie Mae
Fannie Mae is an American shareholder-owned company that provides financial products and services that make it possible for low-, moderate- and middle-income families to buy homes of their own. Housing finance is a major component of today's capital markets and understanding the intricacies of this sector is essential for long term, stable wealth creation. Fannie Mae's International Housing Finance Symposium Series offers a unique educational opportunity to learn about housing finance, including the details of U.S. primary and secondary mortgage markets. This Symposium Series profiles the U.S. mortgage finance system; however, "best practices" from around the globe and country case studies facilitate the sharing of international perspectives. These interactive sessions are limited to approximately 50 delegates who represent government, NGO, and private sectors in emerging and well-developed nations. Below is a description of the 2004 International Housing Finance Symposium Series being held at our Washington, DC headquarters. Fannie Mae offers two Housing Finance Symposiums: Series I, Series II and Series III. Series I: The U.S. Housing Finance System This forum provides a practical understanding of the market structure and best practices developed in the U.S. primary and secondary mortgage markets-identifying considerations for implementation in other markets. Case studies are incorporated to enhance practical aspects of information discussed. External speakers provide additional insight on the U.S. and international perspectives. http://www.fanniemae.com/ihfs Series II: Securitization for Housing Finance This forum focuses specifically on the core concepts of mortgage securitization including in-depth analysis of various mortgage securities instruments, comprehensive review of structuring options and credit enhancement mechanisms, step-by-step examination of the securitization transaction, tools and techniques for valuation, pricing and hedging of mortgage securities. http://www.fanniemae.com/ihfs Series III: "Housing Infrastructure - Policy, Programs and Affordability This forum presents an international perspective on key issues in developing an effective infrastructure for housing.
